Pula

Pula is a beautiful town of 7000 inhabitants, located on the southwest coast of Sardinia poschi kilometers from its capital: Cagliari.

Thanks to its beaches and quaint old town, it has become an important tourist destination.

Pula was founded in the medieval period and is famous for the archaeological site of Nora, dating from the Phoenician and Roman periods.

Nora

Pula lies in the vicinity of the ancient city of Nora, founded according to legend by Iberians led to Sardinia by Norax. Hence its name.

Built by the Phoenicians probably on pre-existing Nuragic settlements, it passed in later centuries first to the Punics and then to the Romans, who elevated it to capital of the province of Sardinia and Corsica.

After the fall of the Western Roman Empire, the city of Nora, like many other Sardinian coastal cities, ceased to exist.
